I agree - if non-taxable gain (against accumulated losses) then the last thing we want is a special unfranked dividend. All that does is turn our after tax capital invested into pre-tax income.
An on market or equal access buyback (even if at the (then) current market price) would be preferable - PLEASE PLEASE - NO UNFRANKED DIVIDENDS
