It appears that Avecho has multiple deal discussions happening at the moment.

Firstly, there is interest being shown from other parties in the TPM/CBD capsule, potentially in other indications or in other markets. Paul Gavin made the comment that this interest is coming from “serious pharma” rather than smaller players.

There are also discussions happening around other TPM cannabinoid products. While it was not stated which specific products, Avecho has formulated a TPM CBD topical product, which has demonstrated success in a Phase 2 study of hand osteoarthritis. In addition, the company has already developed both oral and topical dosage forms of THC, CBG, CBC and CBN.

Fast-acting THC gummies have also been developed, suitable for the recreational space in markets such as the US and/or the pharmaceutical space in Australia. Under the SAS-B scheme for prescribing medicinal cannabis in Australia THC is the most prescribed type of cannabinoid and pain is the most cited indication. Gummies (also known as pastilles) are the fastest growing dosage form within the SAS-B scheme so a fast-acting THC gummy suitable for pain could well be of interest.

In addition, the company remains in ongoing discussion for a deal related to a “legacy product/s”.

For the sceptics who don’t believe that the US$3m upfront payment from Sandoz will materialize, Paul Gavin has said that there will be an announcement made when the payment is received.
