I don't think this offer is anywhere near high enough. VLW's share price has been depressed recently because of a general housing downturn, not because of its own performance or underlying value. This bid looks opportunistic as a result. It compares the offer to the depressed share price in March and fails to compare it to the partly recovered share price in April.only 6.6% premium on the current share price as at close of business yesterday. That is a woeful takeover premium for such a good business. I recommend all shareholders vote against the bid at this price if/when it is put to a vote.
