They have been collaborating with University of Colorado and Houston Methodist for awhile now. The proof of concept work is the result of those collaborations to date. They can now take that work to the FDA for discussions on what is needed to get to the goal of human clinical trials. They have literally stated in every quarterly call and company update for the past year the proof of concept work would be completed by end of 2021. This is the announcement to confirm that work has been completed, shouldn't surprise anyone and is actually good news. But them these guys can't do anything right according to this message board.
