I reckon the sales staff were busy speaking to the docs and clinical staff, but forgot about checking in with the back office, and gave a misleading short term outlook to management. I was guilty of that some decades ago as a technology sales rep, as people who feel their business desperately needs something can be over-confident on how long it will take to go through the purchasing and budget processes.
