True, though vanadium is considered a critical mineral and both Federal and State governments have emphasised their stance on that recently. If a commitment is made to use it in future technologies and industries become dependent on it (and re-designing already produced and regulated vanadium-based technologies to other minerals is unfeasible), then it truly will be 'critical.' I think the use-cases of vanadium are widely accepted but it all lies on whether or not vanadium is actually chosen against competing minerals/metals that can produce similar products and systems.
