I have not heard of road train drivers earning $200 per hour. Diesel can be bought for $1.70L at Geraldton service stations buying in bulk from the wholesaler would be at a discount. FEX buys over 1 million litres per month.
Titanium is used to protect the refractory liner of a steel blast furnace.
The margin is not large when selling 55% IO, but the benefits you listed above are the reason why having the refinery at Tenindewa makes sense.
BTW....some test work was done a few years ago to add another roasting step using hydrogen after the vanadium is liberated.This would increase the IO content above 62%. Maaaaaybe this will be looked at some time in the future.
