Interesting one over the next 6 months will be the Namdini project for which Lycopodium has been the feasibility consultant for the last three years. Shandong Gold appears to have finally one the battle for Cardinal Resources and will probably look to move the project forward fairly quickly.
I’m not sure what the attitude (and capability) of Shandong is to project construction and how likely they would be to use Lycopodium as a contractor. Often you hear of the Chinese companies using Chinese labour for African projects, but Shandong is not very experienced in Africa, so maybe would still use an experienced contractor to manage the build.
This will be one of the larger gold projects in West Africa in recent times (US$400M+ capex).
