    I never mentioned 2030. That was Timorlad.

    I just said ‘quite a few years to production’ which, based on previous mine developments, could be accurate.

    Yeah, it might get mining in a year, IF all approvals and offtakes and funding are already well underway.

    But who would fund and sign offtakes or establish licences etc based on unrealised drilling results?

    That is why they are drilling isn’t it? To establish viability of the resource. Then the steps to production can begin.

    I really hope the resource IS viable, and Timor Leste get some great benefits out of the project.

    Just saying that the timeframe from exploration to production may easily be years. And often is.

    Look at AR3 in Australia as an example. A REE explorer in a friendly jurisdiction.

    Or ARU.

    Timor Leste may have some advantages in the regulatory systems and cheaper labour, but that is also a shitfight at times and can end up with a disaster. Look at Indo nickel mines….cheap and developed quickly. Polluting the shit out of the areas and hardly of any benefit to local populations.
