I like the idea of the generic, its clever.

I, and presumably they, view the brand and generic markets as independent markets.

Some consumers only buy generics and some only brands. So since they have stuffed up our patent which protected us from generic competition as a whole (idiots) we must accept that generics will be sold. ,So its better to have our own generic which is a market leader in the generics space (smart) and try to protect our revenue base to some extent. I think that's why the sp has risen.

Its a strange old world. However this is the first move they have made which actually shows a tiny bit of leadership. I am not expecting a repeat performance.
