In all honesty, I think ACCC just wants to take this high profile case as an opportunity to report out to the public that ACCC is on their side.

The ACCC will also closely examine the likely impact of removing Vodafone as a competitorin the fixed broadband market.“Although Vodafone is currently a relatively minor player in fixed broadband, we consider itmay become an increasingly effective competitor because of its high level of brandrecognition and existing retail mobile customer base,” Mr Sims said.

As rightly pointed out by this journalist: "In the fixed broadband market based on the re-selling of NBN services, Telstra has a 51 per cent share, TPG 22 per cent, Optus 17 per cent and Vocus 6 per cent. Vodafone doesn’t register"

personally, I have never ran across anyone who use Vodafone for their home broadband, and in a world where everything is becoming wireless, why would Vodafone waste money building their own fixed line network..
