Because I know enough about them to know that they exist to drive prices down, and that this is such a money maker for large institutions that it seems it is the preferred mode of operation in the share market because of the imbalance of shares that are likely to be obtainable by these institutions, given the easy millions readily available to them.

Because I read nothing about these companies that suggests they have the slightest interest in going easy on a company doing good work and managing its business well, and which, in the absence of soulless moneymakers would be given a chance for its share price to behave normally.

I doubt these companies could describe more than the technical share price behaviour of any of their stocks - all any company represents is its price gouging potential.

Because they are in no small way behind the enormous number of shares of IMU right now, because their price manipulation means so many more have to be issued in a capital raise to achieve the funds required.

I don’t know whether it’s true but some on these forums say they pay the little creatures who weave their way into forums at times like this to exacerbate disappointment and discontent, with their one liner sputterings of negativity, but if it is, they are even lower than I had thought possible.

(But apart from that - no reason really … .)

Korea doesn’t seem to be regretting its short selling restrictions.

Why not a separate share trading platform for us and another for the short sellers - be interesting to see how long they lasted if they were only facing off against each other rather than exploiting us?

Or categorising shares and nominating only a portion that can be short sold while companies try to get off the ground get some breathing space? (No idea how this would work - just a thought bubble.

Or mandating that companies publish on their home pages the extent of their short selling activity so that the public can choose whether to support those companies (a little like people choosing not to associate with fossil fuel companies).

Dunno - however something needs to be done to address the David-Goliath situation that currently exists.
