Fiat is fleeing the market to a new home, where it will be destroyed anyway. The US dollar may look like a safe haven, but with US inflation at 9.1% it is already losing value. When you buy gold stocks you are buying gold in the ground, the discount is the cost of extraction. I will personally keep averaging down at a steady rate, because you don't get these opportunities very often. Human nature tells us not to catch falling knifes, but buying when others are selling is usually rewarded over the longer term.
