I would have preferred a buy back as well. However, I think the way they are structuring this makes good sense. Some people do want consistent dividends, rather than relying on special dividends, and BTI have the cash to enable this for many years. Nta gap should close as a result. And we still have plenty of growth potential in current assets, along with the ability to reinvest into current businesses or invest into new ones.
