"The firm funding the lawsuit, Bentham IMF, said late payment fees were worth a quarter of the $55 million that customers had been seeking from ANZ – about $12.5 million.
But the case against ANZ has broader ramifications because is being seen as a template for a 170,000-strong class action against major lenders including the Commonwealth Bank, Westpac, NAB, Citi, which proponents say could be worth up to $200 million. It is being billed as the largest class action in Australian history............"
