If these batteries end out being really good maybe they could be used as a short-term backup at hospitals, schools, supermarkets, police stations, prisions, railway stations and stadiums. Anyone ever been caught at a petrol station trying to pay for fuel when the grid goes down? It's a nightmare. We have been pushed into a digital world without the backups.
We have seen a heap of 1 in a 100 year events in the last 2 years and are now starting to realise we need some backups to keep civilisation ticking over when the sheet hits the fan. When you see truckloads of frozen goods being tossed out after a power failure you have to think that a backup system has its place and could possibly save money on insurance.
With more extreme events a few of these batteries make sense.
