technically if the battery was small and could accept high charge rates then it could be charged almost instantly but yes, a battery capable of powering a house/farm/city/car etc would not be possible with todays tech due to infrastructure to handle those currents.
I've seen Li batteries with 10C capability meaning very fast charge times which we wouldn't have imagined 10yrs ago when 2C was unbelievable. Who knows what the future will bring - remember when going to the moon was difficult? We don't even blink at the thought now.
