"Absence any change of decree, Buffer Zone 2 of the Upper Niger National Park is a protected area where
the mining of mineral deposits is not permitted. However, there are precedents in Guinea for Mining Permits
to be granted within highly environmentally sensitive areas (e.g. within and adjacent to the Mt Nimba World
Heritage Site). "

Precedents are there but of course if anyone stuck to the letter of the law ...
My gut feel is :
1. So close to the edge of the buffer zone 2 that boundary could easily be redrawn
2.. Too big , too much money for it to be left sitting in the ground and I imagine that should win out .

But , in Africa , anything is possible !
