Just remember two things when assessing a company.
Firstly EPS growth is the holy grail of investing. For example look at TNE, ARB, CSL, COH and RMD who have shown good EPS growth over the last 10 years and growth that is consistent. Then check the share price appreciation that goes along with this EPS growth.
Secondly when assessing performance always look at the cash flow statement and undertstand the various components. Cashflow never lies.
