The U. S. Needs to import 79% of its titanum. To produce a single F35 strike fighter it consumes about 15 tons of titanium.
Given that most of its titanium comes from Russia this makes NMT a strategic asset.
I'd hate to see Russia and China have complete control of this commodity.
So why haven't the U. S. Shown interest in NMT, S project?
