With RNU and BKT, I see graphite as the "poor" cousin to Li. But their graph says LCE from 654kT (others say 480kt to 2mT. Others say 6M Tonnes and that number is what Tesla and a TW of grid storage will need. Graphite they say from 914kT to 5.9mT. So if batteries continue their 94% projected cost down, they could be looking at 2X or even more.
So the bull case is probably double what they say.
The IPPC in this weeks report said they simply did not predict the rapid increase in solar panels. The same is happening with batteries. I don't think BKT is putting forward their bull case as many would scoff at it. I for one think their forecasts are very very conservative.
I have a series of articles on gigafactories on my website. Battery Gigafactories - Key to energy storage for EV and Grid Energy (changediscussion.com) and with over 1 TW announced in EU, another 1TW in USA, and the Russia saga, expect a lot more in the next decade.
