There was one sentence in the ann that caught my attention:

"Stelco SPV has exclusive rights for batteries, cells and modules sourced wholly from end-of-life and scrapped electricvehicles in North America,"

To my understanding the big recycling volumes come initially from production scrap of battery manufacturers. And those are not included in the agreement with Stelco.

End of life recycling will be a big business in some years but first a meaningful number of EVs have to reach their end-of-life. I did not expect an agreement in that segment yet. Stelco already doing a lot of recycling for the steel puts them in a privileged position to get the batteries from scrapped vehicles too. So that is good news.

What I am waiting for though is an agreement with a battery manufacturer. Recycling volumes there should be much higher initially. I am very confident we will get an agreement of that kind soon too....

Discl: Very long NMT (and very happy with that....)
