that’s exactly what happens actually. The gas trapped under the cap is under pressure and once pierced by the drill it wants to escape up the hole. That’s why they have blowout preventers and what not at the top of hole. The gas that comes out isn’t pure helium though. You are correct about helium being difficult to work with and store. At this point that is a problem I’d like us to have. At the moment we’re stuck with nothing coming out of the well at all, no pressure.
