This document clearly states in its executive summary that nothing is going to happen until GMMP is approved ........... and it appears to have so far been delayed since Feb 2022.

1. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Purpose of the EMP; To define groundwater aspects associated with the Optimised Mardie Project and to establish monitoring actions
that align with the outcomes of condition 3-1 and condition 3-4 of Ministerial Statement1175, and thus protecting key environmental factors from the Optimised Mardie Project.
Key environmental factor/s, outcome/s and/or objectives;
Inland Waters: To maintain the hydrological regimes and quality of groundwater and surface water so that environmental values are protected.
Groundwater: To maintain the hydrological regimes and quality of groundwater and surface water so that environmental values are protected.

Outcomes:
• No adverse impact to water levels or water quality in Mardie Pool or Mt Salt Mound Spring because of changes to groundwater regimes or groundwater quality.
No changes to the health, extent of diversity of more than five (5) ha of intertidal benthic communities and habitat, including mangrove, samphire and algal mat as a result of changes to groundwater regimes or groundwater quality associated with the proposal.
Condition clauses (if applicable) Optimised Mardie Project is under assessment however Condition 3-3 of MS 1175 is predicted to be utilised for the
regulation of this GMMP.

Groundwater monitoring network and additional baseline investigations.
Proposed investigation to establish baseline and refine groundwater model.

EMP required pre-construction? No –the GMMP for the approved Mardie Project (MS1175) must be approved prior to starting transfer of seawater, brine or waste product into any evaporation or crystalliser pond. This requirement is expected to be applied to the Optimised Mardie Project also.
