Hi Nutsy. As such, the main competition for the bluechiip technology are labels (hand-written or pre-printed) or barcodes (linear or 2D). There are no RFID technologies being used in the low temperature/cryogenic storage environments as they can not survive these cold temperatures as well as the sterilisation procedures of the sample storage container such as vials and blood bags. So, it is mainly getting people to move up from labels and barcodes to something which is more sophisticated, can reduce some of the manual handling where issues of quality can arise and can be automated in the future. Once different facilities who are trialling the technology can show the use case and ROI, more and more facilities around the globe will start moving to bluechiip as it will become the gold standard/best practice. It's about acceptance, something new, with supporting data behind but when it happens....WOW! I still remain a STRONG believer in the company and its technology and can't wait to see it grow and grow. The ex MD/CEO and co-founder.
