The hedging was done at the time on ill timing with the jump past 2800... But surely this is now the same ill timing with closing out these hedged. They've bought 3000 ounces at 2666 Oz on market to close this out and the spot price is 2566 today?? Even the 6000 ounces is above spot prices.
on both ends they've times it wrong - sure they've made a profit, but given the " we won't hedge fiasco" I think they've clearly shown some missteps in handling hedging. They've missed a good 400k on today's spot prices closing this off. If gold jumps again are they going to whip out hedging again despite their past announcement?
