the gold proice runs with the australian dollar , if indeed the AUD is at a low, then that is upside for gold, and when the AUD and Gold run together, gold outperforms the AUD
whoever is their hedging analyst needs an almighty kick in the nether regions, the only worse hegde manager i could possibly think of begins with a B .. and is celebrating an underwater hedge already.. after crying from the rooftops when it was 50 below his 3k call... you could not make it up.. its like watching idiots with 5 jabs telling you they only got covid 5 times
