Beamtree, Milton Keynes University Hospital partner for AI, automation

Australian health data and insights company Beamtree has partnered with Milton Keynes University Hospital (MKUH) Foundation Trust in the UK for creating a global centre of excellence for automation and AI solutions to tackle challenges facing the NHS and health systems across the world.

Beamtree’s AI products, including Beamtree’s Ainsoff Deterioration Index, will be evaluated by MKUH to determine where they anticipate they will have the most significant impact. The companies will collaborate to implement and scale the AI tools across the NHS.

Beamtree reports that MKUH is the first hospital in the world to be using Beamtree’s assisted clinical coding system. The organisations have also agreed to co-invest in developing more AI applications.

Professor Joe Harrison, CEO of Milton Keynes University Hospital, said, “The NHS has always been a test bed for some of the world’s most important medical innovations.

“Automation and digitisation must be the way we modernise the service to protect our staff from burnout and give patients a safe, high-quality service.”

Alex Kafetz, Director of Beamtree NHS projects, said, “Beamtree now has several partnerships with NHS organisations, and we are thrilled that the relationship with Milton Keynes means we can go further and faster in developing innovative products that free up clinicians’ time, keep patients safe and cut bureaucracy.”
