This seems to be a pure manipulation of the share price by a substantial holder taking advantage of a shorting action that they created!
Maybe there needs to be an exclusion period preventing companies from buying back in within a certain time frame after they dump a heap of stock resulting in a share price decline. A more cynical person might have described their actions as sabotage!
Maybe even time to outlaw Shorting!
