For me, the fact AEF has increased their holding 40% is a good sign. Ok, so they will probably sell down if the price spikes on good news, but isn't that what every other trader here will be doing. I don't see why they are any worse than anyone else.
If people have a problem with that they can invest in companies that the smart money isn't interested in.
The fact they are here tells me the management is solid and so is the science. AEF has done very well the last five years so they are making some good decisions.
