I don't think that's his angle... I honestly believe he's peeved with the current management and would like to overhaul Myers operations to include his outlets that he controls.
this way he can close stores relocate into myer, build it up and eventually amalgamate the two businesses!
ultimately a win win! without hanging money over!
if he has control of the board to an extent he can suggest that the ideas make sense!
