Seth, just 7 days later CBA is no longer a substantial SH. Since you viewed going over the 5% hurdle as a "massive vote of confidence", would you see the recent sell as a "massive LOSS of confidence" - since the holding is below 5%? I guess not. - Here, I think, you shot from the hip. In my considered opinion (haha) these sort of announcements are regulatory driven, and mostly meaningless.
BTW, I liked your quotes in another posting on behavioural aspects of investing. It speaks to me a lot, as I have found myself hanging to some investments (not all of them) for far too long.
