I assume they don’t need to sell on the day they receive the borrowed shares.
I think borrow return is when they close a short position.
But actually I’ve no idea how to interpret these things. I’m sure there’s another layer of complexity I’m missing.
Generally I think MQG increasing has tended to correspond to more short interest in the past.
