A hedging agreement means that gold has already been sold (short) when it was put in place (2021) and CAI must now close the short out by delivering.
At the time the hedge was put in place the PoG was around $2100. The hedging agreement is a standard practice for securing credit. The banks try to minimize any company related risk.
