Come on people, you have to be better than this (unless you're still in school playing with a demo trading account). This borrow, short, return collateral shares has been going on with HAS, as many other stocks, for years. It's not a sign of confidence it's how funds short a sick dog stock...
One MS entity has built up a miniscule 118k shares over 12 months, game playing for whatever reason but immaterial. Now another MS entity has borrowed 99% of the new sub holding total to potentially short and play with if they choose. Morgan Stanley & Co International plc are a long-short fund, and you don't borrow shares to go long because you have to return them and pay high interest rates for the effort.
