If I read this and the Morgan Stanley announcement right, MUFG are only saying they have an interest in yesterdays shares because they own 20% of Morgan Stanley, not they own the RFG shares. Even then, its Morgan Stanley Nominees that have the interest, not the ownership of the RFG shares. They hold them for unknown party/ies, probably under a CHESS agreement with the owners. Who actually owns the shares - we will not know until the Annual Report, if RFG includes it, or if one party's ownership exceeds 5%.
