My understanding is that Mitsubishi Finance bought out Colonial First State, and that the previous announcement is perhaps being rolled into this one. If they are increasing their position, my guess is that they are not doing it to look at a higher bid, but rather to arbitrage the ~1.5% (6-7% pa) they can make. I don't believe that this really changes anything fundamentally. In fact, if they are looking to arbitrage the situation, then they will be voting Yes.
