This deal is far from done.
AF could, would want and probably will, burn through $60M and upwards to gain further control.
AF is liquid as AF (see what I did there). We are talking about a $1.3 billion - $1.8 billion. No Afterpay required for AF.
Secondly, nothing would give BHP shareholders more solace than a purchase outside of oil, LNG and iron ore. Especially against the plummenting share price. It would show shareholders direction.
EVN are masters of buying incremental portions of sustainable, high return fields - who says BHP has to buy the world in one hit? This is their area after all - Nickel West.
WSA is a target for three, not one.
And BHP has shown its interest in nickel in the last three months and how tired they are of dealing with foreign governments - USA included (at the Resolution copper mine in Phoenix - thanks Joe) - Brazil, Chile etc etc..
All that penny stock stuff is completely in the past for AF. He is so liquid he doesn't need a shower.
