Was there a hint of this from the recent Target Statement provided by SBL ....

Section 4.8 (p23) offered the following glimmer of hope ... "At this stage, the Board is not in a position to provide Shareholders with information in relation to the probability of an alternative transaction arising but will keep Shareholders informed of any material developments".

Whether todays announcement constitutes or leads to an "alternative transaction" or not doesn't matter, but it add interest to the mix.
