It works both ways, they could be shoring up past shorts for settlement or they could be stocking up for issuing more shorts into the market.
The more interesting one for me is the exit of FIL in Singapore (one of the 35%er backers of Jan and co.) and the inclusion of a small hedge fund from the US...I wonder if they will support Jan and co. and backfill the FIL exit or if they will abstain or vote against it at the upcoming EGM.
