Here is another insight into why I struggle to see the opportunity for Norwood. I was in Bangkok for 10 days spread between 2 trips within a 3-4 week period. As I do every time; I picked up a local SIM with the largest service provider in Thailand, True, at the 7/11 store next to my hotel. It cost THB200 [about AUD8] and the process took 5 minutes. I had the option of connecting via WiFi, which would not eat into my credit, or use data and run the risk of having to "top up". Despite being the largest service provider, WiFi was problematic with True. I gave up and switched to data.

Growler I agree with most of your sentiments, however why would you go to the expense and hassle of buying and swaping out 6+ SIMs, when you could simply buy a Flexiroam X SIM sticker for $30 USD, place it over your existing SIM and switch it on (using the app) the moment your plane touches down in your new destination?
