All those 'in-specie' transactions by BlackRock Fund Advisors are likely shares borrowed. More recently Blackrock Investment Management (UK) have been buying a heap on market (so going long). If anyone is keen you can work out how many shares each group holds, how many were borrowed, if the entity that borrowed shares has been closing out and how many the entity that is going long has bought on market. Their Australian Equitised Long Short Fund did go short on a brine asset recently, not that this gives any indication what they would do with GXY.
