Briefly speaking, the company needs to have 90%+ of the total shares supporting the FFT takeover move, in order for it to occur.
If it gets 89.99% or under, the takeover fails. So, it is getting a few 'friends' to buy up some people's sells, in the hope they will vote in favour of the FFT takeover deal.
