Pages of trading and borrowing/paying back of stock over a year between DB, Citi, BNY Mellon and others ending up with DB controlling 5%. If another player has over 5% then they can presumably block the take over. Maybe DB is shorting the stock again with the expectation that the TO will fail, and trying to make sure it does? Maybe they want Varian to pay more? Presumably they have a plan of some kind?
