In a one pager in the Weekend Australian titled "Best Investment Ideas for 2019" which listed 50 investment ideas, Opthea (18) in a subtitled section "Can biotechs cure an ailing portfolio?" was the first company mentioned as one to watch in 2019.
2018 has largely been a year to forget for Australian biotech which included the failure of several companies (FTT,MSB,BNO and IMC) to meet primary end points in randomised, controlled phase II trials. Australian biotech is in need of a good news story. Fingers crossed, Opthea can deliver in 2019.
