Not sure why I have got your back up tangs, but I will try and answer based on what I know.
1) Shorting AKA to short "sell (stocks or other securities or commodities) in advance of acquiring them, with the aim of making a profit when the price falls."
2) Vinva have a huge cash backing and to absorb 1 to 10+ million shares in a single trade would not be an issue for them

2/4/19 ANN Vinva hold 32,586,179 million securities traded over a period of 29/11/18 to 29/3/19 (the 29/11/18 was approximately the start of the appreciating share price)
In that period though they actually acquired 58,229,610 but disposed of 25,591,489
So it is only my assumption (and happy to have it corrected) but based on what I know about long & short selling as they profess on their website. They are accumulating a long position then selling a short position taking advantage of the the retail buyers and sellers in both scenarios, because of their huge cash backing.

A snapshot of RMS short selling from the period of 7th March to 3rd April total volume traded 176,514,339 the number of shorts in that period 36,168,842 (20.5%)

Essentially I don't really understand how Vinva exactly operate and nothing I can find explains it but we have Saracen and Myers to go by that I can find
