I'm not sure what "pure investment" means in this context - as opposed to what?
My experience of private company funding rounds is that the equity has to come from somewhere. Usually taking new rounds of investment requires *someone* to take a hit i.e. the cap table adds up to 100% before the round and it adds up to 100% after the round and the new investor(s) now have some chunk of the 100%. So everyone in the cap table before takes a dilution hit. This hit may not be distributed evenly and it's possible to not take a hit - so maybe you have founders with (say) 70% and Series A investors with 30% and you take more money in during Series B but most/all of it comes out of the founders not Series A people who put up real money.
Where does that valuation and income number come from?
