hey, if you mean "how exactly did the shares get transferred during a halt" then the quick answer is that citicorp are the registered owners in chess (as these are held beneficially for colonial - not owned by colonial), and that ownership/registration arrangement did not change, so there was no chess transfer required for this back room paperwork/legal change to be done. That is why this could happen for them when u may be currently trapped as an owner inside chess without transfer/exchange options available to you.
reminder - when a joint puts out a substantial holder notice for a stock they may not be actually interested in a price going up but merely collecting "ownership" of the shares so they can sell them (short them), or collecting "ownership" so they influence an upcoming vote or block a takeover or whatever. These joints do this without the actual owner registration in chess ever changing (through the beneficial process).
why these particular 83M shares got scooped up and placed in that particular company by colonial i have no idea .....(but that company and colonial are one in the same)
