    It's a securities lending agreement mate.

    How many times does this have to be explained to you? THey didn't buy the stock, they have an agreement with the owner that allows them to lend the stock should a client wish to borrow it. For this they will be paid a fee.

    Because of this arrangment they are DEEMED to have an interest in the stock.

    Educate yourself and you'll stop jumping at shadows.
