I don't understand your point about lower regulatory standards for orphan drugs. You do understand that Clinuvel's drug is approved already so its sort of irrelevant isn't it ? Given these incredibly low barriers to entry can you explain why MT is spending many millions extending their trial for several years to obtain more safety data? It doesn't make sense. Given your background in science and regulatory affairs you would have some insight into the cost of running such trials, particularly in the US.
I will agree with you that the market doesn't believe the hype about new indications, but isn't that where opportunities exist in the market. No guarantees.
